Bangkok Restaurant

Bangkok restaurant in Siam and Silom area

Bangkok has more restaurants than you know what to do with. The shear number of cafes and full scale restaurants can make choosing a good place to grab a bit a daunting task. Yet, we all have our favourite joints. Below are some of the Bangkok favourites;

Bangkok Restaurant : Northeastern Thai food or Issaan food

The Krok: The Krok is smack dab in the middle of Siam Centre. Located in the centre of student-central, lunchtime at the Krok is normally a sea of black skirts and trousers and white blouses (the standard university uniform in Thailand). Yet despite the crowds, the service is always fast and the feeling always intimate. The Krok takes Northeastern Thai, or Issaan, food past your everyday sticky rice and somtam (papaya salad). Various grilled meats, noodle salads, and spicy vegetables are all served with four unique sauces that give any meal a new twist.

Bangkok Restaurant : Salad and pasta in the Hotel

Hotel Tawana: If you are a westerner, every now and then you've just had one too many plates of rice. What's the quickest way to heal the Thai-food blues? A nice salad, a plate of steaming hot homemade pasta, a thick slab of butter across a slice of warm, fresh baked bread and maybe a glass of smooth red wine. Throw it all on a white table cloth for under $10 US served up by a true Italian and you've found yourself at the little Italian restaurant on the lower level of Hotel Tawana. Even the most shoe string traveler can enjoy the life of fine dining with the incredible lunch menu offering 99 baht salads ($2.50 US) and 110 baht pasta. Located just opposite Soi Patpong on Surawaong Road.

Bangkok Restaurant : Noodle shop

Noodi Noodles: While the food at Noodi Noodles isn't worth raving about (it's not bad, its just not special), Noodi Noodles gains special attention for it's always entertaining lady boy staff and its late night hours satisfying the after-clubs-are-closed hungers. Noodi Noodles is a chain restaurant found in Silom, MBK, Siam Centre and other various spots around Bangkok.

Bangkok Restaurant : Coffee shop

Coffee Society: Want something different than Coffee World and Starbucks? Try Coffee Society located near Sala Daeng MRT stop. The independently owned two-storey coffee shop offers comfortable couches, secluded booths, and free wi-fi that its corporate rivals do not! Coffee Society also serves a full menu in case you want a bite to eat with your Americano.
