Bangkok palace : Vimanmek Mansion or teakwood mansion
Built as one of the world's largest teakwood building; Bangkok palace, Vimanmek Mansion was built as a royal residence in 20th century. Vimanmek Mansion is the world's largest golden teakwood mansion. It was used as a palace for a few years before it fell into disuse and was practically forgotten until the early eighties. It was rediscovered by Her Majesty the Queen and turned into museum.
 
Vimanmek Mansion is the largest residence in Dusit Garden. Its architectural style reflects a western influence. It is a three-storey building and a part is
o ctagonal and has four-storey where the king lived. There are altogether 31 exhibition rooms, some of which maintain the atmosphere of the past, especially the bedrooms, the Audience Chamber and the bathrooms.
Her Majesty the Queen asked for His Majesty's permission to renovate the Mansion to be used as a museum to honour King Rama V by displaying his photographs, art and artifacts.
The compound contains several small buildings to accommodate the Royal consorts and little prince and princesses. 31 rooms are open to the public, and some have been maintained as they were before. These include the Royal bed chamber, the private bathroom and the audience hall.
