Bangkok tourist guide: Tuk interview
1. Please introduce yourself
I am an easy going person with a good sense of humor and pleasant personality. I was born to be in the service industry. After graduating, I entered the service industry by joining a hotel and tour company and was there for more than 20 years. This is a tough business and you cannot do it unless you love to help and serve people. I love seeing people happy and ensure that all my clients' requests and expectations are met. To accomplish this, I have a good ear for listening to what my clients want. After all, everything during the tour will be really easy and I can make everyone happy.
2. Why have you chosen to become a tour guide?
As I mention earlier, I worked as a hotel receptionist, tour operator, and customer service agent for a tour company. The only thing I had not done was being a tour guide. That is why I have been a Bangkok tour guide for the past four years. I discovered that this career is rewarding and matches my personality. I love it!
3. What are some of the places you like to visit?
The places that are culturally rich have sophisticated architecture and a long history. I love traveling to palaces to see the beauty of wood crafting, hand made products and art. Sometimes, my friends poke fun at me, saying that I worked or was involved with the palace in my previous life. They even said that my blood is blue. Let me explain. The joke is related to the Thai flag. It has three colors by which red representing the nation, white representing religion and blue representing the monarch.
4. What do you do during your free time?
I read books, watch movies and listen to music.
5. What complements do you get most from your customers?
I had a book which belonged to the company I worked for. Every time I finished the tour, I needed to hand it to my clients to rate my service. I always got good complements such as informative, knowledgeable and friendly. It does not only get me more tours from my company but encourages me to work even harder.
6. What would you like to share with tourists that would help promote Bangkok and Thailand?
Bangkok and Thailand are excellent destinations to visit, not only because it is convenient, cheap and has many sightseeing opportunities, but also because Thai people are so friendly. The city has so much to offer a tourist. You visit many destinations around the world. Some cities or countries are good but very expensive and hard to access. Some are good and convenient but it is too expensive. Many visitors may need a lifetime of savings to visit these places and many also have strict visa rules.
If you want the most convenience while visiting Bangkok, you can just book my service to help you have a smooth trip.
7. Tell us about your impressions of your trips or anything related to your clients.
I have one memorable client who was from America and worked as a Chief Executive of a big corporation. We visited the Vimanmek mansion, after which he introduced his family and friends to my service. Every time I visit Vimanmek mansion, I am reminded of him.
8. What do you tell tourists to visit in Bangkok?
The Grand Palace is a must visit place.
