Travel by vehicle for 40 kms to Wat Phra Thad Koo Kaew on a hill top. Then cycle along a rural back road that follows the base of the hill as it threads its way through the Water Buffalo Swamp . Witness local people who live their lives beside the swamp together with their livestock, hordes of water buffalos.
Take lunch along the way, either a picnic box or at a local roadside restaurant. Turn off into the Doi Sa-ngo foothills and follow a dirt track to an Akha hilltribe village perched on top of the hill with excellent view of the surrounding valley. |
