She was truly to her word. Now, this area has plenty of trees.

Visit Doi Tung, 2,000 meters above sea-level, enroute visit a Lahu hilltribe village and an Akha Pa Mee village. In the past, the forest area around this areawas destroyed by shifting cultivation. Until 1987, this Development Project has been established according to the King Mother's initiative. Visit Mae Fah Luang Garden , with flowering plants of various colours.
Drive on to Wat Phrathad Doi Tung a sacred hilltop shrine, regarded as the holiest sanctuary by the residents of Chiang Rai and nearby provinces. The Wat was built in A.D. 911 and it is believed that the left collarbone of Lord Buddha is enshrined in the twin Pagodas. |
