Thailand Vacation for Mountain Cities and National Park
The most well known national park in Thailand is Khao Yai.
Khao Yai
enjoys the mountainous terrain surrounding the northeast plateau forming the central plain of Thailand. This park is for nature lovers, with abundant wildlife, refreshing waterfalls and overall serenity.
| Kanchanaburi : which is slightly closer in distance than Khao Yai, is approximately 130 kilometers west of Bangkok. The two rivers from Mae Nam Mae Klong result in some of Thailand's most impressive waterfalls and wildlife, which thrives upon the rivers. The bridge over the River Kwai built by World War II prisoners is situated here. |

| Chiang Mai : is Thailand's second largest city. It is known for its cultural significance and is home to around 1100 temples and arts and crafts centers. It is a home of some of Thailand's largest mountains. Historical links can be traced back to the ancient Silk Road when the city served as a hub for the exchange of handcrafted goods, umbrellas, jewelry and woodcarving. Pattaya :
is 170 km south of Bangkok. Pattaya makes an excellent choice for those who have limited time to enjoy Thailand beaches. It is a town famous amongst sailors for rest and relaxation.
Hua Hin
is a beach town famous especially for weekend getaways. Located in the northern area of Kra Isthmus, Hua Hin is an easy 260 km southwest of Bangkok.
| Phuket : is famous for its various beaches and islands. Mountains and beaches of the island make Phuket one of Thailand's most desirable vacation destinations. Travel to other exotic islands can be made through Phuket. |

Khoa Samui :
is probably the most famous island for anyone interested in rock climbing. The island is a paradise for rock climbers. This is the third largest island with its beautiful beaches, scenic attractions, and hilltop views.
Thailand Vacation for Historical Sites located outside of Bangkok
Different historical sites were built in various periods like the Sukhothai period, the Lopburi period, the Khmer period and the Lanna period. Some of these destinations take 5-12 hours by car and an hour by plane.
Sukothai and Sri Sachanalai Ancient City :
Sukhothai, the first truly independent Thai Kingdom, enjoyed a golden age under King Ramkhamhaeng, credited with creating of the Thai alphabet. The superb temples and monuments of this great city have been lovingly restored in Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a place where travelers must visit
| Phimai : Cambodian Ancient City Phimai is an ancient community center where the renowned great Phimai Sanctuary is located. Even today, Phimai is an interesting place to visit, with the well-known Khmer Sanctuary and inherited Buddhist culture. The Sanctuary is situated in the center of Phimai Ancient City, which lies on a 665 meters wide and 1,030 meters long rectangular shape. The Sanctuary has been magnificently restored and renovated, and has been preserved as a National Historical Park. |

| Prasart Phanom Rung : Historical Site of Khmer Khmer Sanctuary of Prasart Phanom Rung at Burirum and Prasart Muang Tam Visitors will be able to witness the miraculous phenomenon of the sun's rays shining straight through the 15 aligned doors of the Prasart Phanom Rung. A religious Brahman ceremony and the worship of sacred beings of the universe are conducted. Local Cultural Show, A Hopebai Dinner and this repeats are being held in the Pothi Courtyard. Prasat Hin Phanom Rung is on the top of the Phanom Rung Mountain, with both the door frames and walls carved in beautiful designs related to Hinduism as believed by the Khmer influence. |
