The Kingdom of Cambodia covers an area of 181,035 sq. km. and is divided into 21 provinces with a population of more than 7 million people. It was once a French colony. It is bordered to the North by Thailand and Laos, to the East and South by Vietnam, and to the South and Southwest by the Gulf of Thailand.

Phnom Phenh
Phnom Penh is the country’s capital where is renowned for its beauty, particularly the area surrounding the Royal Palace where splendid Khmer towers join the boulevard with colored French villas on the banks of the Tonle Sap river.
Siem Reap
One of the world’s famous tourist attractions in Cambodia is the glorious Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom in Siem Reap. It is situated in Siem Reap Province, just a few kilometers from the town. It can be reached by daily direct flight from Phnom Penh. Angkor Wat is one of the ancient wonders of the world and is the cultural home of Khmer people. Its magnificent architecture was the evidence of the Khmer’s strong belief in religions – Hinduism and Buddhism. First discovered by Western archeologists in the late 19th century, the lost city of Angkor is just re-opening to the exploration of the modern civilization.
In the range of Angkor Wat, the fortified city of Angkor Thom is away to some 10 sq km. It was built by Angkor’s greatest builder (see air balloon tour for Angkor wat top view), Jayavarman 7 (reigned 1181 to 1201), who came to power just after the ruinous by the Chams of the previous Khmer capital. It is surrounded by a square wall with eight metres high and 12 km in length and encircled by a moat 100 meters wide which is said to have been inhabited by fierce crocodiles. Angkor Thom has five monumental gates, one in the north, west and south walls and two in the east wall. The gates, which are 20 metres in height, are decorated on either side of the passageway with stone elephant trunks and crowned by four impressive enormous faces of the bodhisatva Avalokitesvara.

While elsewhere, national parks, beaches and beating of tropical adventure in Sihanoukville can all help keep a good number of visitors each year.
Some of the most awe-inspiring historical remains on the planet, Cambodia is a kingdom of wild jungle. The city where shared the past in between inspiring and saddening. The history of nation ravages under Pol Pot’s destructive Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s, brings out great attractions of its own. It has recovered enough to become one of the highlights of Southeast Asia.
