Hill Tribe People in Chiang Mai By Guide Eng
Visit ing the hill tribe people has become an attraction for tourists visiting Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Son.
Often, tourists are curious about the way of living of the hill tribe people, which is why these people draw thousands of visitors to their villages every year.
There are many tribes, but they can be separated into six major groups. While some are natives of Northern Thailand, other groups come from Tibet , Laos , Yunan , China and Myanmar .
We are going to talk about Long Neck, the most famous tribe. They are also called Palong.
Originally, the Palongs are from Myanmar and have lived in Thailand for over 30 years. What is unique about them is that their women wear brass rings around their necks and legs. As you can see from the picture, the older they are the longer are the brass rings. |
