After years of war and isolation, Laos is slowly opening to the outside world, but it retains its own quiet rhythm and charm. Laos is landlocked country with a total area of 236,800 square kilometers. Almost 70% of Laos’ terrain is mountainous which makes Loas has wide range of plants and animals within natural environment. Beside beautiful nature, village life is refreshingly simple and even in Vientiane it’s hard to believe this simply way of living exists in a national capital.
The re is the historical city of Luang Prabang, where watching as hundreds of saffron-robed monks move silently among centuries-old monasteries is as romantic a scene as you’ll experience anywhere in Asia. The United Nations has recently declared Luang Prabang, the ancient northern capital, a protected World Heritage Site. There are also so much to see in Laos ; the Plain of Jars in Xieng Khuang Province, the forested mountains of Northern Laos, the gothic limestone karsts around the backpacker-haven Vang Vieng and in the deep south, past the market town Pakse, is Si Phan Don (Four Thousand Islands), where the mighty Mekong spreads out and all the hammocks are taken.

The best time to visit Laos is between November and April. (except February till early March due to slash and burn time of farmer around Luang prabang area)

The hot season from March to May is very dry and certain river trips are not possible
