Where is Koh Samet?
Koh Samet is a small island which is part of the Khao Leam Ya – Mo Ko Samet Nationa park. It is on the east of Thailand at A.Keang , Rayong province.Koh Samet is very near to the mainland. It is just 6 kilometers away from the mainland. From Baan pea pier to main Dan or Samet pier is just 30 minutes away by big boat. Then visitors can reach other beach by local truck or rent motorbike.
Is Koh Samed a famous place?
Yes, Koh Samed is a famous island that Thais and foreigner want to escape away especially the weekend. The island has many beaches, beautiful view, nice beaches and good water.More importantly, it is very close to Bangkok. No need to fly away from far away destination.
In addition, there are small islands with coral and fishes which is a suite for snorkel and swim.It makes Koh Samed very popular and busy during the weekend and long holiday.Before committing koh Samed to be your holiday , you must know about Climate. There are around 12 beaches in Koh Samed.Convenient beaches in the center. The beaches that very easy to access shops, restaurants and nightlife consist of Saikaew Beach, Hat Naga, Ao Hin Khok , Leam Yai and Ao Lukyon. It is in very near in a walking distance to connect one beach to another.
Beach with up scale resort and small number of hotel. Ao Prao is located of top resort such as Le vimarn cottage, Lima coco and aoprao resort. Ao Cho is consist of 2 resort which is Ao Cho Grand view resort and Tarn Tawan resort.Travel or stay in those 2 beaches above, there are 3 options. Take a resort speed boat. Go with schedule a big boat. Or travel with big boat to Na Dan and connect and take truck to those beaches.
Away beaches. Ao Vongduen, Ao thian, Ao Kiew Nanai, Ao Pakarang, Leamt Kut, Ao Karang, Ao Wai, and Ao Lung dam are far away beach which will take longer to get there and less boat . But is not a big problem , just check the resort you want to stay.
What else Koh Samed has to offer?
Basically, people come to relax, no full scale night life at night as Pattaya or Phuket. But you can take a motorbike to other beaches, snorkel trip or Koh Talu , fishing squid at night and hop around the island tour.So it is not much, but good enough for relaxing, for 3 – 6 days.See that we have to offer for Samed in love package
